Care Ministry

Our largest outreach is our Care Ministry, which provides groceries for needy people in our community. This particular ministry was started in 1990 and continues to support and help families today. Working with a yearly budget of $40,000.00, we provide groceries for approximately 60 families per week or roughly 10,000 individuals per year. Our Care Ministry operates out of our Church building every Monday between the hours of 9:00am—11:00am (Emergency food help at other times also). Our goal is to serve, love, and care for our needy residents, providing food, spiritual guidance, and support for each one, refusing assistance to no one. We have been able to do this for the past 27 years, and we expect to continue for many years to come. Our ministry involves some 17 volunteers working mainly some 6 hours on each Monday (food distribution) and 3 hours each Thursday (food delivery--inventory). Not only do we box and sack grocery items, but we also load the items into the clients' vehicles for them (serving).

Our Care Ministry is open to to Denison residents every Monday. Families are eligible to receive food once a month. We require registration through our front office and we require those looking to pick up to call our office on the Monday that they intend to pick up between the hours of 9 am-11am.

Volunteers are welcome on Mondays from 9 am-12pm (lunch provided) and for the truck delivery on Thursdays at 9 am.

Our Mission statement for our Care Ministry is:
